Head of educational programs for the training of computer science teachers and IT specialists

In 1985 under the famous scientist and professor Kenzhegulov K K. (1985-1987), the "Computer Science and Computer Engineering" department has created. Since its founding, the department has been headed by the candidate of physics and mathematics, associate professor Tleugaliev S. H. (1987-1989), where the training of the first computer science teachers began. The leading teachers of the department of those years were O.N. Stavkin, M.V. Isakov, S.Zh. Zhumakhanov and M.K. Antusheva.

Since 1989, the department has been led by the candidate for physics and mathematics, associate professor G. M. Minius (1989-2002). During this period, approaches to the preparation of reports were improved, and the necessary experience was accumulated in the training of future competitive specialists in the field of "Physics and Computer Science", "Mathematics and Computer Science".

In 1995, the Humanitarian University of Western Kazakhstan named after A.S. Pushkin was established on the basis of the Urals Pedagogical Institute named after A.S. Pushkin. The department was merged with the Departments of Physics and Economics, and in 2000, due to the change in the structure of the West Kazakhstan State University, the Department of Computer Science was established as an independent department.

In the 2005-2006 academic year, after the adoption of quality standards and environmental protection, documentation was compiled on the basis of the QMS and the credit system of training began this year. Since 2006, under the direction of Medeshova A. B., the educational, scientific and methodological work of the department has been enhanced.

In 2009, the Department of Computing was removed and merged with the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the Faculty of Natural Mathematics and the Department of General Pedagogy of the Pedagogical Faculty.

In the 2011-2012 academic year, the Department of Information Technology became independent again. Based on the department, there are new modern computer classes, classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, an electronic reading room, and virtual labs. Educational and methodological work in the department is carried out in accordance with the curriculum and work plans prepared on the basis of state-mandated standards of education and standard programs of the disciplines taught. The research work is one of the main orientations of the department and is necessary through the collaborative work of students and teachers. The results are actively implemented by teachers in the educational process: books and learning materials are published. Academic staff of the Department of Computer Science, combining training and education, prepare competitive, creative individuals who can set and solve pedagogical tasks taking into account the requirements of modern society, who possess advanced technologies of training and education, who can manage the educational process, design and implement pedagogical conditions focused on the development of the student's personality. The mission of the Department of Computer Science: education of students' communication skills and competence. The adviser of the department works closely with students, paying special attention to improving the quality of education.

The ability to conduct effective educational work in the learning process, and to form the sense of students of high morality, patriotism, diligence and independence is another element of pedagogical competence. In this direction, tutors and their students organize educational and social events in various formats.
